Darko Dozet, a photo reporter at the newspaper Večernje novosti, ranks among the elite of the middle generation of photographers.
We began our cooperation while he was still working for Tanjug and part-time for Novosti. Every task he undertook was done willingly and with a strong creative charge.
His trademark is reportage. Each story is fully covered—wide, medium, and close shots—by the book. His favorite lens is the 24–70 mm zoom. I don’t even have to check the file info; I know it’s him. Brilliant sharpness, the right angle, and strong composition are all hallmarks of Darko Dozet’s photography.
Every shoot, even those offering little room for creativity, bears the unmistakable DOZET stamp.
The famous Feketić episode and the snow blockade of Vojvodina’s roads revealed the full power of his photography. Misery, snow, frost, and icy air could almost be felt just by looking at his images.
I can say that these photographs have marked his career so far.
Dozet is a synonym for a top-class photo reporter who has found his place at Večernje novosti, a newsroom with a long tradition of nurturing true newspaper photography and outstanding photo reporters like himself.
